Panorama d’Italia: entrepreneurs and innovations. Experiences of success and the start-ups that will change the world

Ragusa must be taken as a model, thanks to its excellences, its peculiarity and its history. This is the theme that have been discussed yesterday morning, at the Chamber of Commerce, during the first two meetings of Panorama d’Italia in Ragusa.

The title of the first debate is “Italy restarts from Ragusa”, it was moderated by the director of Panorama Giorgio Mulè and Marcello Di Caterina, General Director of ALIS, participated as a relator. “We are talking about a land which is proudly living – said the journalist – We finish here a journey which has started almost a year ago, and it is a pleasure that Ragusa has been chosen for it, a city which represents another South. The signs of the recent economic crisis are still clear, but the begin of new companies (mainly related to tourism and agribusiness) shows that this is a territory which is moving”.

The Panel was highly qualified: Luca Altieri (director of marketing, communications and citizenship at IBM Italia), Gianni Bocchieri (General Director of the Department of Education, Training and Labor, Lombardy Region), Tommaso Dragotto (Sicily by Car), Antonello Irace (CEO 3SUN – Enel), Umberto Schininà (CEO Group Scar), Marcello Di Caterina (General Director of ALIS).

The second debate, moderated by the journalist Sergio Luciano, focused on the start-ups of Ragusa. The guests were: Ninni Cascone (Alganatura Sicilia), Marco Ceresa (CEO Randstad Italia), Marco Gay (Executive Vice President Digital Magics), Danilo Iervolino (President Pegaso Telematic University), Nicola Losito (Director Digital Business IBM Italia), Fernando Napolitamo (President and CEO IB&II).

Meanwhile, the national winner of “Eureka, the idea becomes business”, the competition launched by Panorama d’Italia, will be proclaimed today.  The winner is Safety Environmental Engineering, a start-up which realized a system to make photovoltaic panels safer against the risk of fire. Second place for SmartIsland.
